Senior School Extra Curricular Activities

Staff and students recognise that learning continues outside of the classroom. We want to promote and observe a real love for learning. Therefore we provide lots of clubs and societies for our students and we encourage our students to wholeheartedly engage in them. Extra-Curricular activities offer students the additional opportunity to learn together, developing new and established skills in a sociable and fun setting.

All students are offered the chance to participate in a wide variety of different sporting activities too, including lunchtime practices and after-School clubs and fixtures.

Our Range of Clubs and Societies is Broad

Currently, we are offering the following (although our programme will evolve and develop over the academic year):

  • The Debating Club
  • Book Club
  • HistFlix
  • Cooking Club
  • Multi Sports
  • Drama Club
  • Textiles Club
  • STEM Club
  • Basketball Club
  • Girls Football Club
  • Football Club
  • Netball Club
  • Songwriting
  • Dutch Garden Club
  • The Art House
  • Dance Club
  • Sion Singers

“Sound and ViSION’ is a popular evening which is held twice each year in the School Hall and enables students to show their abilities in music, drama and dance. More formal opportunities to perform occur at Prize-giving, the Carol Service, Spring Concert and Leavers’ Service. The Drama Department aims to involve students actively in all aspects of drama and the theatre.

We put on whole-school productions and these are usually musicals. Students can participate in productions, either by performing in main roles or the chorus/dance troupe or through being involved in the vital backstage work.

A list of extra-curricular clubs available at Our Lady of Sion are displayed on the Learning Platform.
