Years 7–9 at Sion School

At Sion Senior School, Years 7 to 9 mark the beginning of an exciting journey through Key Stage 3. We provide a nurturing and inclusive environment where students are encouraged to grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

SION’s key stage 3 Maths curriculum is structured around the White Rose Maths Scheme of Work, which was introduced in the 2022–23 academic year. Students follow a carefully sequenced programme that introduces key scientific concepts and practical skills. The curriculum is aligned with the National Curriculum and prepares students for the transition to GCSE Science in Year 10.

  • Biology – students explore topics such as cells and organ systems, reproduction, ecosystems, and genetics.
  • Chemistry – students study the properties of matter, chemical reactions, the periodic table, and acids and alkalis.

The school operates a minibus service every weekday, offering return journeys to the Senior School. Routes are reviewed annually based on demand and aim to cover a wide area, including: 

  • Westerly: up to the outskirts of Littlehampton 
  • Easterly: up to the outskirts of Hove 
  • North Westerly: up to Pulborough 
  • North Easterly: up to Henfield
