This is  Mental Health Awareness Week. This has been reflected throughout the school with different activities and discussions.
Year 3 have been thinking about ways in which bringing nature into their lives will help their wellbeing. They discussed: creativity (sand castles, ephemeral art, painting using materials form nature); mindfulness (bird song, watching the clouds, listening to the sea in a shell); staying active, (climbing trees, hiking, swimming in the sea); and connectivity (meeting friends outside, taking dog for a walk, gardening).
In Year 5, they discussed the different ways they can express themselves. Mrs Walton demonstrated her tap dancing to show the class what she does which led to lots of discussion within the class!
With this year’s theme being ‘Nature’, in the Senior School tutors led discussions within their g roups about the wellbeing benefits of being outside.
