Huge congratulations to all the Sion pupils who took part in the Worthing Music and Arts Festival. Some fantastic achievements from our Junior and Senior pupils who are all taught by Jane Ware, our Speech and Drama Teacher.

Amy was awarded first place for both verse and solo drama. She also came second for prose reading and qualified for the Junior Finals where she was presented with the Constance Scott Memorial Trophy for the highest verse mark in the festival!

Roman achieved first and second place for prose reading and also qualified for the Junior Finals as did Tilly who came first for prose reading and third for solo drama. Italia gained a first for prose reading and third for verse speaking, and Rose came first in her class for solo verse.

From the Senior School, Lara came first for solo Shakespeare and was awarded a silver salver. She also gained second place for improvisation, third place for prose reading and with Flora came second for their duologue. Tabitha gained first place for prose reading and third place for verse.

Sion Juniors did particularly well in the duologue class with Janani and Georgina coming first, Annie and Betty second and Olivia and Roman third!

Second places were also awarded to Ava for verse and Lily Rose for prose reading. Third places were awarded to Flora for sight reading, Tilly for verse and prose, Elina for solo verse, Olivia for prose reading and solo verse, Georgina, Gethin, Jack and Kitty Mae for speaking, and Mia and Daisy for prose reading.

A fantastic achievement for all the students. Clearly Mrs Ware had prepared them extremely well for the Festival!
