On 20th March Brittany and Abi both went to Manchester for the English Schools National Championships where the top 8 athletes from the 45 counties of England compete. It was a very tough race in awful weather conditions, which made running very difficult. Of the 277 who managed to finish the race, Brittany was less than 200m off gaining 10th place; she was placed 30th, which shows what a tight finish it was; Abi finished just 11 seconds behind Brittany in 37th place. Both girls would like to have done better, but their coach had broken down on the way to Manchester, and the weather was definitely against them! Even though they are a little disappointed, everyone at school is very proud of them for their achievements.
