Admissions to the Senior School

Each application is assessed on an individual basis and entrance will be dependent on a range of criteria. External candidates may be required to spend some time in school before the offer of a place is confirmed.

Years 7 to 10
The Entrance Exams are held in January, although it is possible to sit them at other times during the academic year.

The offer of a place will be based on the attainment of acceptable results in written examinations in English, Mathematics, Reasoning and French (for those who have previously studied this subject). Entry will also depend upon a Parent and Pupil interview with the Headmaster, and satisfactory references from previous schools.

Years 12 to 13
Admission for ALL pupils, both internal and external, is dependent upon GCSE results and satisfactory school reports. Scholarships may be available to suitable candidates. Please contact the school for further details.

General information
Should there be evidence of particular academic or behavioural needs, which cannot be accommodated within our curriculum, we will recommend an alternative environment more specifically designed to cater for such pupils' requirements. It is not feasible for us to provide specialist support for pupils with learning or behavioural difficulties.

In the unlikely event that a child displays problems not detected during his/her initial visit or does not settle into the school environment, we reserve the right to ask parents to seek an alternative school. This action would be taken only as a last resort and following at least two consultations with parents

A non-returnable fee of £50 is payable when you register your child for admission to Our Lady of Sion School.

The school reserves the right to amend this policy.
