Welcome to the 9th Edition of the Parents' Handbook, published September 2009. The handbook is an introduction to the organisation, the day to day procedures and the pastoral information for Our Lady of Sion School, and is given out to the parents or guardians of all new pupils at Our Lady of Sion School. Please contact the school if you would like a copy of the handbook, or if you require further clarification of any of the information contained in it.

Headmasters' Foreward

Dear Parents

I am pleased to write this foreword for the Senior School Parents’ Handbook.  In providing you with this book we continue to develop and improve the lines of communication that exist between home and school.  I hope that you will take the time to read it and find all the information you need.  As you will already be aware, we also publish a monthly Bulletin giving you the latest news, calendar details and sports results and fixtures.

The education of your children is a responsibility that we take very seriously and, as we all know, this task is one that we achieve together. By working with you we can provide students with the very best opportunities possible.

Our aim is to continue to create an environment where each individual is valued and encouraged to develop their talents to the best of their ability.  As we move into the next phase of our development, it will be essential for us to remind ourselves constantly that we aim to educate young people so that they can take their place and be effective citizens in the wider world.  Our earnest hope is that our students will leave us imbued with the spirit of Our Lady of Sion – a spirit deeply rooted in respect, tolerance and understanding.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if we can help in any way.

Yours sincerely

Michael Scullion
Headmaster
