Junior School

At Our Lady of Sion, your child's happiness is our first priority, and we ensure that all our parents are involved in every aspect of their child's learning. We offer every child a unique education in a small, caring family community, where each child is encouraged by our dedicated and highly-qualified staff to reach their full potential. Our class sizes are always small, allowing the teachers to get to know your child really well, and so bring out the best in them.

The Junior School is housed in Westbrooke, just a short walk from the excellent facilities of the Senior School in Gratwicke Road, of which we are able to make full use. Our school building was originally a large house. It has been much extended and adapted to meet modern educational needs, but it still retains a welcoming feel, which contributes to the secure, family atmosphere central to the character of the school.

The Ethos of our multi-faith school is to promote tolerance and understanding of the beliefs of others. Teaching is Christian based and all our classes participate in Assemblies. We are an inclusive school, and we welcome families of all faiths or none.

Visiting the Junior School
You are welcome to contact the school to make an appointment with Mr. James Summers, Deputy Head of the Junior School, to visit the Junior school or the Nursery at any time during the school day. You are welcome to bring your child with you. Tours of the Nursery last about 90 minutes. Tours of the Junior School last about one hour. Your visit will include meetings with Mr. Summers and the teachers for the relevant year for your child.

Junior School open Mornings and Evenings
The Junior School holds regular open mornings and evenings; at least one in every term. Details of these dates can be found in the school calendar, or on the events section of the website. You are very welcome to visit us for one of these events, when you will have the opportunity to look around the school.
