*Please contact the Admissions Registrar;- by telephone on 01903 228638 or by e-mail at admissions@sionschool.org.uk concerning any questions you may have on admissions to Early Years ,the Junior or the Senior School*
The main years of entry to Our Lady of Sion are Nursery, Reception, Year 6, Year 7, Year 9 and Year 12. Depending on places available, and the entrance criteria, children are welcome to join our community at any time.
It is a simple process to begin your child's journey through Our Lady of Sion, and these are some of the steps to be taken:
•Contact the school and request a prospectus
•Visit the school
•Complete the school Registration Form and return with the non-refundable fee of £50.
We will contact you two terms before your child is due to start in the Junior or Senior School, and we will request references from your child's current school. Your child will probably need to sit entrance tests or an informal assessment, depending on age and will be invited to spend some time at Our Lady of Sion School.
Entrance Criteria
Admission to the school is on a selective basis offered on attainment of acceptable results in school's own entrance examinations. For pupils wishing to join in Years 3 - 6. these will be in verbal, non-verbal and quantitative reasoning and a test in English. Pupils joining the Senior School (Year 7 and above) will be tested as above with the addition of a test in French (if they have already studied this subject). A parent and pupil interview with the Headmaster will also take place, and references from previous schools are taken into account. In the sixth form, admission is dependent on GCSE results and satisfactory school reports. Candidates may be expected to spend some time in school before the offer of a place is confirmed.
Our Lady of Sion School seeks to provide all its students with opportunities to achieve excellence in an atmosphere of tolerance and understanding. All members of the School Community are encouraged to embrace the motto "Consideration Always" and apply it to all aspects of our life and work. We are a Catholic foundation that positively welcomes students of all faiths and those who would benefit from the ethos we provide.
